Advised the incoming CEO of a Fortune 500 retailer about key corporate governance matters. Produced an analysis of governance standards and best practices. Using information from the company and publicly available data, compared the companys current governance structure and policies to best practice and recommended strategies for closing the gap. Focused on topics including Board composition, committee structure, and the Board-CEO relationship. The CEO got a snapshot of the key governance challenges he was faced with and suggestions for addressing those challenges. As a result, he was able to focus his energies on the market and guiding the turnaround he was hired to lead.
